Check exact text equality, distinguish Base64 from URL component encoding, and understand what a SHA-256 digest can and cannot prove.

Choose the comparison you actually need
The text comparison tool reports whether two blocks match and their character counts. Separate blocks with a line containing three hyphens. For highlighted edits or line-by-line differences, use a dedicated diff editor; this workspace does not provide that view.
Keep encodings distinct
Base64 represents bytes as text and is reversible. URL component encoding escapes a value for use inside a URL, including characters such as spaces and separators. Neither operation encrypts confidential data.
Use hashes for exact-input checks
The hash tool calculates SHA-256 from UTF-8 text. Spaces, line endings, and different character representations can change the result. A matching digest does not authenticate an untrusted source, and an unsalted text hash is not a password-storage system.
