Before You Upload Video, Make It Smaller and Easier to Review
Prepare a video upload by selecting the useful duration, checking format compatibility, compressing, and reviewing motion and speech.

Keep the duration the viewer needs
Remove unnecessary lead-in and trailing footage with trimming when the full recording is not required. Keep enough context that the action or spoken explanation still makes sense.
Match playback requirements
Choose a supported output format and test the exported clip on the destination device or service. An MP4 extension alone does not describe every codec or guarantee compatibility with every application.
Check the compressed result
Compare file size with the upload limit, play a high-motion scene, and listen to speech. Inspect the first and last seconds for accidental cuts. Re-encoding can alter picture quality and sound, so retain the original recording.
